“The ship MV Antonella, named after the CEO's wife, was purchased. This ship with a gross tonnage of 4,915 tons was chosen precisely for its size, both its loading capacity and its dimensions. It was perfectly suited to match the Darsena quay in Piombino to reload iron ore fines. Its size was adapted to supply cement plants with iron corrector. MV Antonella represented the beginning of MGM's maritime shipping history.”
This turning point generated multiple results for MGM.
MGM began managing ships and expanded its services to yachting.
New routes were discovered, new clients were met, new industries were added to the portfolio.
Third-party ship chartering activity did not decrease, it actually strengthened MGM's position as a charterer.
