In the early 2000s, the cement market in Europe was progressing at a very intense pace, demand was high, as was production.
A closed rice mill was for sale, we saw the opportunity and decided to buy it to convert it into a clinker grinding plant for cement.
The business plan promised a good return on investment, the conversion would have been relatively easy, and the main challenge in terms of time was obtaining administrative authorizations. The process to obtain such authorizations was long and complex, but it ultimately succeeded after almost 4 years.

“This long period spent chasing administrative protocols did not discourage us and allowed us to become active players in the cement production world.”
This allowed us to know this industry from the inside as well, and not just as a supplier, and that is where the true added value of this experience lies.
After a relatively short period of ownership, and given that cement in Europe was still a very dynamic sector, a major player in the cement industry proposed to merge by selling our plant to them.
